Social Canteen and Day Care Centre in Navodari, Renovated with European Funds under Regional Operational Programme

Today, 3 May, in Bucharest, the Minister of Regional Development and Tourism, Cristian Petrescu, signed the contract for the project "Social canteen and day care centre in the locality of Navodari -rehabilitation and modernisation", financed under the Regional Operational Programme, totalling 4.765 million lei, of which the non-reimbursable financing represents the amount of 3,774,120.99 lei.

The project consists of the rehabilitation and modernisation works of 2,723.8 sqm, by retrofitting and protecting the A wing of the day care centre, partitioning works, restoring plumbing, electrical and thermal installations etc., equipping the canteen and the day care centre. The main objective of the project is to improve the quality of social services infrastructure in the town of Navodari. The implementation period of the investment is 18 months.

The direct beneficiaries of the project will be 200 people with special needs in the area, who will receive a daily lunch every day, 25 children who will benefit from educational and social services and 60 more adults who can benefit from social services.

The project is funded by the Regional Operational Programme - Regio - Priority Axis 1: Support sustainable development of cities – urban growth poles - Key area of intervention 1.1: Integrated Urban Development Plans – Sub-area: Constanta growth pole.

2,793 financing contracts in a total amount of 21.878.720.616 lei, were signed under the Regional Operational Programme until 27 April 2012.
